groundhogs everywhere

Friday, 9 January 2009

it must be some sort of weird recurring theme week for me.
coming hot on the heels of my 'achingly beautiful' groundhog moment is my 'innocent and fun' groundhog moment. kinda weird.

so anyway, the most recent fun/innocent/innocently fun/funly innocent experience revolved heavily around boston kids giantess and their music

Giantess - You Were Young

Giantess - Tuff n' Stuff

when i heard 'you were young' on the radio last night i must admit that i was pretty excited cos i thought i was listening to a new bmx track. but no.. it was better than i could have imagined: i was actually listening to another strikingly similar, infectiously groovy lo-fi synth pop group..! hope they are taking over the world now. i love giantess' d.i.y. vibe but cant really work out why- is it cos they sound like they legitimately love the music they are making? i legitimately love the music they are making..

i was reading more about them at the awesome neon gold when i also found out this remix that they featured on..

Passion Pit - Sleepyhead (Bo Flex Remix Feat. Giantess)

hope 2k9 sees big things for giantess. the solution to the economic crisis could well be synth pop
