Dorian Concept's career started at seven-years-old as he clutched a keyboard without any hair around his nipples. According to his MySpace he used to trip out on the 'snow flakes' sound built into his first Yamaha keyboard after hitting the C3 note. I think this kid needed a MegaDrive, or MegaWeed, something chronic.

Today, and many hairs later, the Austrian has released his first long-player When Planets Explode. It sounds part shoegaze lethargitronica, part Tobacco. It's got lots of jazz and hip-hop influences - it's refreshing to hear such unashamedly considered electronica.

Here's a delish track that sounds like the product of The Doors and Dr. Dre mixing samples and drugs for a weekend.

Dorian Concept - Fort Teen

The album has several weird song titles. Like, what's a 'colour sexist' exactly? What is that 'fucking formula'? And must i assume 'freehanded monkey' is about the famous 'rose orgasm' scene from 40 Days and 40 Nights? Peh.

Dorian Concept will spend the rest of the month playing in Salzburg and St. Gallen.
