the drums fills and snares warm my heart

Wednesday, 6 May 2009

i think i must be quite a simple man.. my last week has been filled with the basic pleasures of late 80's dance and the heavy snares and drum fills contained within. i may not know much about these artists but i sure do enjoy their music.

this effort from 49ers is full of smiles and honey coated innocence. it defs belonged at some basketball court party in the lbc..

49ers - Don't You Love Me

remember when breaks was big a few years ago? and all these cheesy songs (looking at you poxymusic) came out with the word 'break' in it? well house music obviously made some kind of surgence in the 90s cos so many songs had cheesy references to the word 'house' in their title.. kind of makes you cringe. this track by mr lee is a little less blase with its love for house and ends up being all warehousey and menacing.

Mr Lee - Come To My House

this little tech-house monster from lfo has especially caught my attention.. shouldnt really be my cup of tea but that jittery 'uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh' vocal sample keeps me coming back and back and back.

LFO - LFO

what the fuck. why is a skippy, malfunctioning one second vocal loop keeping me coming back?

this is a remix of LFO's LFO not the original
