Oh golly I'm excited about this post.
Wu Tang? Deep house? Surely not.
During a weekend of letting my hair down in London recently, I was lucky enough to come across two Romanian DJs - Praslea and Petre Inspirescu - who were putting their heads together to make one hell of a party.
After warming up at their warehouse party with some solid tech house and techno, the guys headed to the after party where (IMO) their night really kicked off. Here, they shed the darker sounds from the warehouse and moved into brighter, groovier territory - they seemed more at home here, and it was defs welcomed by the morning crowd. It is also here that they played this particular song.. A sophisticated, low key groover that absolutely blew the roof off.
Do you recognise the sample? Yep, it's C.R.E.A.M.. An awesome deep house version of Wu Tang's C.R.E.A.M by Exploited's mysterious Claptone.
The famous raps may be gone, but in their place is this storming (yet thoroughly subtle) bassline that slots in really nicely with the familiar piano plink/guitar strum 1-2 punch...
Grab your copy of Claptone's Cream right here.
