Sasse & Guy Gerber

Friday, 27 April 2012

Time to get back on the horse.
Deeper sounds have worming their way into my playlists since my last Berlin visit.. Is that Spring in the air?

Loads of people are getting all frothy over Guy Gerber and his new work for Visionquest entitled 'The Mirror Game'.. And to be honest it is very froth-worthy.
Visionquest's trademark smooth,  danceable flow combine sweetly with an imposing and somewhat dramatic melody from Gerber. Top, top stuff:

Reconnecting with Sasse's 2010 album 'Toinen' has been something I have enjoyed recently.. And not just because Sasse is one of Finland's finest electronic music exports.
'Berlin' is the album opener, and one of my favourite cuts. Love the wistful synths and funky - yet also wistful bassline. Although it is leaning toward a slightly more upbeat sound, I still think this is one damned fine deep house number:

Rediscover Sasse's 'Toinen' here.

Happy weekends!
