come on

Friday 11 July 2008

i usually like to keep friday as a bit of a banger day... but today im enjoying the simple pleasures of hip hop. so this friday will probably be more of a hip/hop day.

ok so now i know that i majorly missed out on the ratatat party. i remember thinking back when i first listened to them ages ago that they were missing something.. i thought their sound was a bit too basic to just be instrumental/really needed some sort of vocals.. which is probably why i love their remix cds so much..
with the hip hop vocals i reckon their sound becomes totally unique and interesting- such a good blend of rock and hip hop. i know these remix cds have been out for ages, but whatevs..

Beanie Sigel & Dirt McGirt - When You Hear That (Ratatat Remix)

Notorious BIG - Party And Bullshit (Ratatat Remix)

Young Buck, T.I. & Ludacris - Stomp (Ratatat Remix)

they have released their new album fairly recently as well and i must say that i can appreciate it a lot more now after hearing the remix cds..
mumtaz khan is one of my faves on the album and i would describe it as a hip hopped 'hotel california' going for a camel ride in morocco..

Ratatat - Mumtaz Khan

in other hip hop news, swiss producers Reverse Engineering sent through their entry into the Mochipet Remix competition

Mochipet - Tangle feat Salva & Epcot (Reverse Engineering Remix)

this is such a cool track- really grimy and genuine. reminds me of atmosphere. awesome track

I LOVE that "Party and Bullshit" remix. Grabbed it from Ratatat's website a while back, been rocking it ever since...
