i know this new kings of convenience video might not be typical blouse fare in any way, but it perfectly captures my mood today.
Kings of Convenience - Boat Behind
thanks to kitsune noir
the washed out colours make me pine for summer.. they also make me want to cut a hole in the roof of my housemates car. ahhhhh what is summer without a sunroof?
many summers ago, this remix by royksopp was one of the only tracks that me and my friends listened to. perfect melancholy dream pop for a sunny afternoon.
Kings of Convenience - I Don't Know What I Can Save You From (Royksopp Remix)
why are the lyrics in kings of convenience songs always so melancholy? i have no answer but damn they are fitting well with me at the moment.

Aside from the regular columns, news briefs and cock-waffle in this week's Brag, i read something that left a sick feeling in my belleh.
FBi Radio is pitching a call for donations, bags of silver and Spanish gold bullion after announcing they are, like the rest of us, financially bollocks'd. Sydney's best community radio station needs $1 million to survive.
According to the Brag's oft-questionable maths skillz FBi recently eclipsed 220,000 listeners a week. That's 10% more than when i became a supporter in late 2008. It sounds like many are tuning in but few are forking out.
Because FBi is - pardon the simple metaphor - fucking incredible, it would be a damn shame if they closed the doors on Sydney's listeners, up-and-coming bands and unpaid staff that literally work for the dirty love of it.
Please don't let this happen. The station is organising fundraising gigs for May/June so if you're a band or if you're a music venue get in touch with Dan Zilber dan@fbiradio.com or Rob Giovannoni rob@selectmusic.com.au to lend a hand.
Royksopp - Happy Up Here (Holy Fuck Re-Interpretation)

being back on holidays is really awesome. i dont even care if its because i dont have a job anymore. the feeling of not knowing what im going to do today- or even what day it is is nice.
so anyway, when i woke up this morning, i thought 'wow its tuesday or something- time for some nice relaxing music before i go to the beach.' i kind of felt like some royksopp so i put it in and started listening to it. it was then that i realised that it was actually friday---- party timmeeee
i was glad that some clever people had made banging remixes of royksopp so that i didnt even have to change playlists.
cass and mangans crunchily techy take on 'beautiful day without you' is especially awesome. has a great jungles and machetes vibe to it but probably would be nothing without the great rhythm and flow brought on by some clever symbols and drums. hope to hear this in a backroom soon yo
Royksopp - Beautiful Day Without You (Cass And Mangan Living Underdog Remix)
i dont know if i have jungles somehow stuck in my head but this next song is going to be the soundtrack to my next cocktails-in-coconut-shells-served-by-monkeys drinking afternoon. thanks to this song and its irresistible bassline, i feel like taking my decks to the victoria room or gazebo and playing this song over and over. this is how house should always be. fun, funky, flowy, bassy and jungly. jimbo i hope you like this one.
Royksopp - Eple (Boris And Michi's Eplistic-Scratch-Attack)
as a side note: im sick of being embarassed by the australian cricket team. so over it. im blushing right now.
