Sunday.. Is there a day better suited to the enjoyment of slow burning Cascine magic?

We received a little slice of aforementioned magic a few weeks ago, and it came in the shape of new Cascine signing RxGibbs, and his (soon to be released) EP Futures.

with all the attention that the "new age" of r'n'b has been getting via artists like the weeknd and james blake, its only fitting that chad valley would throw his two cents in as well.

available for free when you 'like' his facebook page, this collection of four edits really benefits from his slick, expansive chillwave stylings. r kelly, mariah carey and keri hilson are all featured, but i think i enjoyed his revisit of alicia keys' "try sleeping with a broken heart" the most..
keys' powerfully emotive vocals offset by solemn organs and valley's rushing synths. really awesome.

Alicia Keys - Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart

head over and 'like' chad valley's facebook page now to pick up the edit collection for free.

as a little something something extra to help you get through to the weekend, here is another cascine piece, this time from jensen sportag.
it is a mini-mix that they put together a month or two ago to accompany their ep 'pure wet'. and it is really really good. just what you need to soothe your thursday jitters.

Jensen Sportag - The Wet Mix

pick up 'pure wet' here. and keep an eye on these guys - after a gaggle of excellent releases and remixes - including one on kitsune - im sure they are destined for great things.

have you heard from valerie recently? do you miss the filter house sound?
to be honest, i thought i had moved on.
until i heard this track from cascine's chad valley.

it really is the perfect extension of that banging, countach flavoured 80's house that valerie championed not that long ago. this is what it would have sounded like if that valerie sound had had more time to grow into itself - mature and get off the dancefloor.

picture russ chimes jamming with washed out. ethereal vocals. dense, pounding keys. uplifting strings. this comes very highly recommended.

Chad Valley - Fast Challenges

chad valley's second ep 'equatorial ultravox' will be out on june 20 via the increasingly impressive cascine. you can grab his first ep here.
