do i even need to say anything? a yuksek remix of phoenix?? i know there are plenty of good combinations on planet earth but if you like a spot of electro house, or a even a pinch of indie dance then im guessing you'll enjoy this.

Phoenix - Lisztomania (Yuksek Remix)

rocking a sophisticated and restrained justice-like sound, this remix slowly bubbles and froths til the last bit of the song where the melody kicks into overdrive.

and while im in extra treat mode, here is a yuksek remix of the autokratz. it was pulled off the new kitsune maison compilation which went on (pre)sale today. out officially on june the first.

autoKratz - Always More (Yuksek Remix)

this is such a complete song, but the syncopated bassline alone really made my night. i have to say that yuksek really is ticking all the boxes at the moment..

good night

this weekend will hopefully be one of the best weekends ever so why not listen to bangers? i might work with a bit of an order here for to make it easier for all of us.. maybe from softest to hardest? "great idea."

ok so like ray was saying the other day, donny diablo-man has recently been popping out tracks like nadya suleman and im pretty sure that the majority of them have been rather awesome.
this remix of the plump djs is one of his newer ones and is definitely a step in a new direction for him. gone are the distorted synths and neon electro demeanor.. replacing these are vocoders and a funky as shit bassline.. very nice

Plump DJs - Beat Myself Up (Don Diablo Rerub)

do you remember a time last year when villains were owning it? i do. they owned it and then they seemed to go back underground. hopefully this N.A.S.A. remix means they are coming back above ground. their funky electro style is definitely more than welcome.

N.A.S.A. - Whatchadoin? (Villains Remix)

this new autokratz remix is a typical sweaty backroom slammer from the boys. maybe a little less ear-ripping and a little more 80's.. whatever- i like it.

Disco Trash Music - Neon Disco (autoKratz Remix)

there seems to be a bit of a trend amongst american producers to chuck a bit of a MSTRKRFT, autoKratz or datA of late and play around with the vowels in their names. not too sure about all that, but i do know that this track by sxndrgs is awesome in the toughest way. distorty electro from the early beetroots/justice days...

SXNDRGS - Chrome Depot

and last up is this take on empire of the sun's walking on a dream by old favourites south central.. it is absolutely ridiculous.
south central were never a group that i could never put my finger on- one second they were making dubby introspective remixes of van she's kelly, then they go ahead and blast walking on a dream atom from atom. i love it.
i can literally visualise the sweat dripping off the ceiling when this song is playing. holy shit. so good. so brutal.

Empire of the Sun - Walking On A Dream (South Central Bootleg Mix)

so anyway have a great weekend. enjoy these bangers on the weekend.

i really wish that i could think today.. then i could maybe put together some words to help describe.. anything.

ive just come across these autoKratz tracks which i rather like.. it seems like these boys are playing every party every where in europe these days.. and good on them.
you are probably already familiar with their older songs ('pardon garcon' and 'stay the same' being notable ones), and if you like them, then you will probably like these ones too

autoKratz - French Girls Play The Guitar

autoKratz - Reaktor

i reckon that 'French Girls Play Guitar' is actually my favourite autoKratz track with its very jivable electro-funk bassline and stop-start rhythm.

i'm not sure how this Cazals remix is like an 80's heartthrob but it is a nice bit of work by autoKratz..

Cazals - To Cut A Long Story Short (autoKratz 80's Heartthrob Mix)

sorry for my shitness but i seriously feel dumb today..

wow i dont think ive been this excited for a weekend in a long time.. seriously cannot wait for the Exposed first birthday tonight! woooot...

as this week draws to a close so too does my promo cd.. pretty excited by that.. i think my fave part of the whole shebang was choosing the slow down songs toward the end..
i dont really know why but some songs really strike me as 'end of dj set' or 'end of dj mix' songs. ive heard a couple of really nice ones recently as well..

The Sound of Arrows - Danger! (Cotton Crew Remix)

Goldfrapp - Happiness (Rex The Dog Remix)

i think that a last song should be quite an emotional song, with heaps of nice synth-ee bits over the top. i think it should preferably be in a minor key.
i think the cotton crew remix is looking like a likely candidate at this stage- such a nice song- not to sound corny or anything but for some reason it reminds me of disgusting morning light shining through a window after a massive night.. bad in a good way... (or is it good in a bad way..?)

however.. something VERY good in a VERY good way is the madness that will ensue tonight.. if your reading this and live in canberra- come down to transit bar tonight- it will be so much fun your head will probably fall off.

i think i will pass on some bangers to leave you with on this awesome friday.

Supabeatz - Alchemy whats up with "Supabeatz"???

autoKratz - 1000 Things

Ascii Disko - Until The Light Takes Us

YEAAAHHHH bangers.. bang bang bang bang SIIZZZZLLLEEERRRRSSS
haha these tracks are your typical electro bangers-- very repetitive but somewhow very compelling.. i like these ones in particular because they seem to have some sort of indie edge to them.. i dont really have anything to qualify that but whatever- put them on when you get home still munting tonight or whenever and annoy some neighbours
