i have to say that in my post (and pre) good vibes melancholy, i was super pumped to do an awesome comedown-core post cos thats all i seem(ed) to be listening to (again).. but with all these issues with internet, computers and jobs- and with the prospect of a weekend hanging over my head- i kind of forgot about my awesome plans and decided to write a slightly funner post.. yay! fun! weekend!

i guess if you were in a bind, this john barera remix of brenden wesley could stand in as a comedown-core track, but i defs think i would rather hear it in a down-tempo cocktail bar, what with it's silver platter funk and sophistication.. so so cool

on a slightly more bangy tip is this new bumblebeez remix of lost valentinos.. this is absolutely what i would love to hear after i leave aforementioned down-tempo cocktail bar. love the way bumblebeez tease and lead me into an electro-fidget wonderland.. the grimyness is enjoyable but when the crazy kicks in at about 2.41..... well it gets even more enjoyable.

i havent really been very sure about all the remixes that the bumblebeez have done, but this one is pretty well on the money. (good job.) as for the lost valentinos, well they are also getting their money on. they have firmly shed their old raw indie sound and are now floating around with floaty electronic acts as damn arms and even midnight juggernauts/cut copy.. high praise? check out the original (its rather glorious--)

i remember first seeing the demo of zzz's lion floating about blogland many many moons ago so it was kind of strange seeing it resurface again under the wing of bang gang 12 inches.. the promo page reveals that it has apparently it has been quite the journey between now and then.. a journey that has consisted of 18 months, 700 emails, 500 phone calls, 400 text messages, 30 artwork changes, 7 tracklist alternatives, 10 software meltdowns, 5 mastering attempts, 16 arguments, 10 tantrums and 6 breakups. wowee.. luckily the song is good hey

in the email there was certainly mention of dimensioneering and even some trance travel.. i was a bit dubious as to the levels of said dimensioneering or trance travel that this song could achieve, but im pleased to announce that after listening to this track that, at the very least, this track has been transformed into a bonafide club banger.. not radically different from the original but enough to make me do a bit of chair-ass jiggling.

i dont know what its like for people overseas (or if you guys even know WHO sneaky are), but sneaky sound system are one of the most uncool groups in australia at the moment.. it might be a bit of a shit thing to say, but sneaky are currently the personification of what it means to go from cool underground to uncool commercial..
and what makes it worse is that its probably not their fault- hell, their musics probably not that bad. its mostly just hearing their songs blaring out of every speaker everywhere and seeing seriously wack people going crazy. im sure they dont care though.. their millions are probably distracting them rather nicely. bastards.

try as i might, the remixes of "when we were young" that have been entering the market are very hard to dislike.
i think breakbot's glitchy/chilled/breakbotty take on the whole thing was the first to float around, but now monsieur GLOVES has thrown his chips on the table with his view on this whole sneaky thing

this remix definitely steps things up a little- but only a little.. there is definitely a throbbing electro undertone underneith there somewhere but mostly it is calmed by the lush slappish bass and synths that are laid over the top of it blanket style..
this remix follows on from his last remix of van she with his development of maturity and track structure.. very impressed lad

finally is mobin master from melb.. he sent in this remix of... (does anyone know the track?).. i know ive heard it on a bang gang podcast at some point in the past..
